The sushi was delicious. The "Super Duper" sushi is ly new favorite! This place does it right with giving out complimentary bite sized cheesecake. Yum! The wait staff were fabulous. We will be back.
We love the area and I looked up great places for sushi. This restaurant had really good reviews. It is clean and the staff is very attentive. We had a late lunch or early dinner. It was a bit pricey but it’s because the fish and vegetables are super fresh. It was fast service. We got the two roll combo option which was a large serving. They gave us free edamame, spring rolls, and a cheesecake. It made the experience more special. It’s a nice place for a date!
I have found a new sushi place. I usually go to ichiban in williamsburg for my sushi but they were closed at the time so I seen this place and it looked good but good was not what I got. IT WAS AMAZING!! The food was fresh and hot, the atmosphere was amazing and our service was top tier!!! fter we ordered our food they brought out complimentary spring rolls (that were great!) and they also brought us a piece of cheesecake that was also amazing! I will be coming here probably more that I need to! 100 out of 10 will always recommend!!
Top-Tier Sushi with Attention to Every Detail This place is incredible. The sushi is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Even the takeout containers are high quality—you can tell they take pride in every part of the experience. This place is a hidden gem, the interior is beautiful with very soft music, and the staff were all very kind and welcoming. The complimentary edamame was perfectly salted and delicious. I ordered steamed gyoza for an appetizer, they came out very quickly and were very soft with a flavorful filling, with a sweet dipping sauce that I wanted to drink it was so good. The thai tea was perfectly sweet and cold, the remedy to such a hot and muggy day. The pork ramen was wonderful, the broth was hearty and savoury, the slices of pork were tender and smoky with the perfect amount of melt in your mouth pork fat. Then finally the crazy volcano roll, it was crunchy, flavorful and had a delicious spicy mayo on top. I was given a free slice of cheesecake and it was a delicious new york style so it wasn't overly sweet and it was perfectly chilled.
Service at Yamachen is above and beyond any I've ever experienced. Staff was very friendly and so kind. Food was amazing. I had the Chef's Platter, and he did not disappoint with his choices. Prices were very reasonable as well.
This is my *favorite* sushi place in all of Newport News/Yorktown! I visit every month or so for a nice date with a friend or family and we always have a perfect time. The food is always delicious and the service is prompt and delightful. The atmosphere is clean and bright, pleasant and quiet. Great for holding conversation. Thank you for excellent service!
Our experience was amazing! We were instantly welcomed in with genuine smiles. Next the food was amazing. We got the number 2 boat and everything was fresh and bright. The plating of the sushi was beautiful and we ate before thinking of taking a picture. The service was impeccable and she always came by to ask how we were doing. We definitely are coming back soon! Thank you for a great date night experience.
